Christian and Islam collaboration must birth peaceful coexistence, Archbishop Kaigama

The Most Rev. Ignatius A. Kaigama, Catholic Archbishop of Abuja has indicated that, Christians and Muslims must do more to ensure consistent collaboration that will ensure a peaceful coexistence.

In a post sited by AGNUS-DEI MEDIA on the Prelate’s Facebook platform, he addressed the issue in his reflection at the just ended interdenominational prayer session for the defeat of COVID-19 pandemic held the National Christian Centre in Abuja on July 5.

The prelate stated that the two religions have, to a greater extent intervened positively amidst the global pandemic.

“This positive intervention is what the adherents of the two major religions, Christianity and Islam need to do more often, to always seek areas of collaboration to promote social harmony, progress and peaceful co-existence”, He added.

On his part, the COVID-19 pandemic has also had toll on affairs on the international front and social existence changing almost every aspect of man’s existence.

The Abuja Archbishop said “the coronavirus is altering global affairs and social existence. I imagine that even after a vaccine eventually neutralizes the virus, society will still feel the social consequences of COVID-19 for decades”.
