Tamale Grand Commandery Inaugurates New Commandery

The Tamale Grand Commandery of the Knights of St John International on Saturday, 3rd October 2020 added one more commandery to its fold in a colorful ceremony held at St Theresa Parish of the Tamale Archdiocese which brings to seventeen, the total number of Commanderies within the Tamale Grand.

The Knights of St John International is a Catholic. The Tamale Grand Commandery has Commnderies drawn from the Tamale Archdiocese, Navrongo-Bolgatanga Diocese, and Damongo-Diocese fraternal society that promotes Loyalty, Charity, and Unit among members in the Catholic Church.

The inauguration ceremony of the St. Theresa Commandery Number 964 which was manned by Brigadier General (Dr.) Anthony Amalba,  preceded by the initiation of five new brothers into the new commandery.

Officers in person to support the Grand President in the inauguration included Brigadier General (Sir) Joseph Charles Osei, 2nd Vice President of the Supreme Subordinate Commandery and the immediate past President of the Tamale Grand, Brigadier General (Nana) Ernest Konadu, Grand Master of the Tamale Noble Temple, Brigadier General Anthony Baisana, the Scribe of the Tamale Noble Temple, and Brigadier General Richard Nayasama. Other Officers included Major General Felix Dery, the Judge Advocate of the Tamale Grand Commandery, Col. Joseph Bapule, 2nd Vice President, Tamale Grand, Capt. Prosper Kunde-Kwalijam, Assistant Secretary, Tamale Grand President and Capt. Boniface Yinyeh (Grand Treasurer).

Presenting the Charter to the President of the new commandery, the Grand President admonished the members to live exemplary lives and be people that others will seek to emulate. The President of Commandery # 964, Bro (Engineer) Sebastian Salia Yiah, pledged to lead the commandery to grow in the St. Theresa Parish for the Good of the Order.

The Commandery which started with 15 brothers has other as Bro Samuel Katori, 1st Vice, Bro Simon Deme-Der, 2nd Vice President, Bro Joseph Makido, R&C Secretary, Bro Rosarius Fugdi, Financial Secretary, Bro Emmanuel Baapeng Anpenyep, Treasurer, Bro Donatus Nketia, Sgt-at-arms, Bro Christopher Tuoeyele, Messenger, Jonas Biawurbi, Guard. The rest who are Trustees include Bro Nelson Gulbi, Bro Kenneth Baba Sulemana and Bro Oswald Wedam Bugase. The spiritual advisor to the Commandery is the Parish Priest of St. Theresa Parish, Rev. Fr. Boniface Masoayelle

The Inauguration was followed by a Thanksgiving mass which coincided with the Parish feast Day of St. Theresa Parish In attendance was over one hundred Brothers and Sisters drawn from the 13th District and District Two Ladies of the Tamale Grand Commandery. The Grand President and his team introduced the executives and the membership of the new commandery to parishioners.
