The International Movement of Catholic Students PAX Romana has elected  Ghanaian as the Secretary General to its International Office.

Mr. Victor Ayertey who hails from the Pan African region, Ghana has on October 24, 2021, been endorsed by the various regional representatives in the international office of the movement to take over as the Secretary-General for the movement. This election was conducted following the resignation of the movement’s Secretary-General from his position based on personal reasons.

Mr. Victor Ayertey from a close source will man over the movement’s secretariat which is located in Paris upon successful handing over proceedings and investiture.

Over 100 years in the history of the IMCS Pax Romana, Mr. Victor Ayertey has made a history of been elected to this high and prestigious office.

IMCS Pax Romana recently celebrated its centenary. IMCS Pax Romana is noted for holistic impart among tertiary students throughout the world.

WHO IS VICTOR AYERTEY?

Victor K. Ayertey is a distinctive and impact-driven Catholic youth and leader with a zeal for community transformation and sustainable development. He is known to working towards the implementation, assessment, and evaluation of purpose drive objectives for common good through engagements and diplomatic relations with Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life, UNESCO, OHCHR, European Youth Forum, MGCY, and NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee.

He served as the National President of the International Movement of Catholic Students PAX Romana Ghana from 2015 to 2016 year of Christ.

He is a graduate of the Koforidua Technical University, 2016 year batch and currently undertaking Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Relations at the Ghana Institute Of Journalism.

BACKGROUND OF INTERNATIONAL MOVEMENT OF CATHOLIC STUDENTS PAX ROMANA.

IMCS Pax Romana is an International Movement of Catholic Students which brings together over 80 diverse national federations, associations, and movements of Catholic University and tertiary students from six regions.

Since 1921, when it was founded under the name of Pax Romana with the aim of promoting peace and justice at the global level, IMCS has the hallmark of helping in holistic formation of students around the globe.

Since 1949, IMCS has been advocating on behalf of its members as a Non-governmental Organisation (NGO) in consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), the United Nations Department of Public Information (DPI), and United Nations Education Science and Culture Organization (UNESCO).

IMCS is also active with regional inter-governmental and international bodies, such as the International Labour Organisation and the World Bank to voice the concerns of youth.

IMCS represents Catholic students within the Church as an international association of the lay Catholic faithful with a special relationship to the Pontifical Council for the Laity and the Secretariat of State of the Holy See.

Inspired by Jesus’ teachings and the Gospel values, IMCS Pax Romana encourages students to live a Spirituality in Action, linking faith, intellect and service of others through praying, reflecting, and acting on issues at all levels of society.
