Martin Gugino, the 75 year old man knocked to the ground and injured by buffalo police has been identified as a longtime peace activist and volunteer Catholic worker, a movement dedicated to justice and peace, founded by servant of God, Dorothy Day.
Earlier reports emerged that, Gugino who took to the streets to advocate for justice was knocked down on a sidewalk by Buffalo police officers where he appeared to hit his head.
Following the incident, two police officers in Buffalo, New York, have been suspended without pay after a video surfaced as protests over the police killing of George Floyd continued into their 10th night giving vivid accounts on the happenings.
Church leadership in the jurisdiction have condemned the recent racial attacks and called for a more sedated approach in resolving the unrest, and called for prayers for Gugino’s recovery.
