Mr. Dennis Appiah-Sasraku, the General Secretary of Ghana Catholic Youth Council (GHANCYC), has urged the youth of Accra Province to remember their Catholic identity as the world changes in the face of the covid-19 pandemic and the global unrest.

He stressed that it was prudent for the faithful particularly the youth to utilise their Catholic faith and ideals to assist those who were suffering and to bring hope to the world.

He made the call during the Keta Akatsi Diocese’s opening ceremony for the 2022 Accra Provincial Zonal Study Session.

“While Covid 19 has presented challenges to the Catholic Church and the country as a whole, we must recognize that it has also made us more compassionate, loving, and innovative in our work and pastoral care.”

The Study session is under the theme “Fratelli Tutti and Covid 19: Pastoral opportunities and challenges in Ghana.”

Youths from the Dioceses of Accra, Ho, Jasikan, Koforidua, Keta Akatsi, and Donkokrom Vicariate participated in the Session Study.

This year’s Study Session also provided opportunities for the Province’s youth to participate in leadership training, allowing them to work more effectively and efficiently in the various Dioceses.

It also gave the province the opportunity to elect new Provincial Executives for the coming fiscal year.
