Bishop of the Ho Diocese, Most Rev. Emmanuel Kofi Fianu, SVD, has exhorted Deacons to be authentic ministers of Christ and persons who are securely established in faith and have no ties with vanity.
The Bishop challenged the newly ordained Deacons to show before God and humanity that they were above all suspicions of blame and encouraged them to “be men of honor, knowledge, and the Holy Spirit” While delivering his homily at a diaconate ordination in the Ho Diocese last Tuesday.
He emphasized that, in light of the current global situation, it was incumbent on ministers of the word to be selfless and capable of leading God’s flock.
Bishop Fianu reflected on Jesus’ loving deed of feeding five thousand men with five loaves of bread and urged the Deacons to use their talents and resources to help humanity in the same way.
Two ‘transitory’ deacons were ordained for the Catholic Diocese of Ho on Tuesday, January 4th, 2022 in a colorful ceremony at the Bishop Holland Pastoral Centre in Sokode-Gborgame.
Rev. Prosper Yao Agbosu of Immaculate Conception Parish, Kpando, and Rev. Michael Wonders Tsekpokumah of St. Augustine Parish, Alavanyo, were called to the Holy.
Before being ordained into the ministerial Priesthood, a Deacon’s service in the church is to serve the Bishop and his body of Priests as a minister of the word.
The newly ordained Deacons expressed their gratitude to their parents and the faithful for their prayers and support during their years of training.
