Rev Fr Alex Mensah Agyemang, Priest in charge of st Dominic Catholic Church, Bremang Nkwantwoma in the Kumasi Archdiocese has passed on in the early hours of Thursday, June 11 2020, ADM NEWS can confirm.

Authorities reveal that, Fr Mensah Agyemang had been admitted at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital where he passed on this morning.

His death has thrown the Catholic community in Ghana into a state of mourning earning condolences from every corner of the country.

A statement from the National Union of Ghana Catholic Diocesan Priests’ Association (NUGDPA), disclosing his death says “Please remember to pray for the gentle soul of Rev. Fr. Alex Mensah Agyeman of the Kumasi Archdiocese who passed on to eternity this morning at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. Until his death he was the Parish Priest of St. Dominic Parish, Breman Nkontwima”.

The association also extended their “Sincerest condolences to Most Rev. Gabriel Justice Anokye (the Archbishop of Kumasi), all the priests, religiousand lay faithful of the Catholic Archdiocese of Kumasi. May the Lord console the bereaved family of our late brother who gave him wholeheartedly to the service of God”

Rev Fr Alex Mensah Agyemang would’ve marked his 20th anniversary in Priesthood on July 1, 2020.

1. He was born in Kokobeng-Akropong in the Atwima Nwabiagya District of the Ashanti Region.
2. July 2000 – Ordained Priest
3. September 2000 – July 2001: Assistant Priest at St. Agnes Parish Offinso-Maase
4. September 2001- July 2003: Teacher and Formator at St Hubert Seminary
5. October 2003 – July 2006: Missionary Service in South Africa, Assistant Priest at St Alexis Parish
6. September 2006 – October 2010: 1st Parish Priest of the Newly created Parish of Nkrumah
7. September 2010 – July 2015: Priest in Charge of Catholic Immigrants, Treviso-Italy and also for further studies
8. October 2015 – July 2019 Parish Priest of Gyinyase
9. September 2019 – June 2020 Rector of St Dominic Rectorate, Bremang Nkontwima
10. 11 June 2020: He passed on to Eternity at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
