Msgr Henryk Mieczysław Jagodziński, Ghana’s new Apostolic Nuncio and Titular Archbishop-Elect of Limosamo has been ordained a Bishop in a colourful ceremony at the Cathedral Basilica of Kielce in Poland.

The occasion was graced by His Excellency Most Rev. Msg. Jan Romeo PAWLOWSKI, Titular Archbishop of  Sejny and Delegate for Pontifical Representations who manned the Episcopal ordination.

The newly ordained Bishop was on Sunday, May 3, 2020, named as the new Apostolic Nuncio to Ghana making him the ninth Nuncio to Ghana.

His Episcopal motto as Archbishop is “In Fines Orbis” (“to the ends of the world”).

The new ambassador of the Holy See takes the place of H.E Jean-Marie Antoine Joseph Speich who ended his six-year service in Ghana as a Holy See representative.

Msgr. Henryk Mieczysław Jagodziński was born in Małogoszcz, Poland, on 1 January 1969. He was ordained a priest on 3 June 1995, and incardinated in Kielce. He holds a degree in canon law.

He entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See on 1 July 2001, and has served in the pontifical representations in Belarus, Croatia, in the Section for Relations with States of the Secretariat of State, and in the Pontifical Representations in India and in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He knows Polish, Italian, French, English, Croatian, Russian and Spanish.
