The Catholic Archdiocese of Kampala on Friday June 12, 2020, announced the passing of one her Priest, Rev. Fr. Gerald JJuuko Sserwadda who has been serving at the Maleera-Nalukolongo Home.
“Dear people of God, with deep sorrow, the Archdiocese of late Fr. JJuuko Kampala announces the passing on of one of her priests, the Late Rev. Fr. Gerald JJuuko Sserwadda”, the Archdiocese disclosed.
Following the death of the Archdiocese’s longest serving Priest, arrangements have been made in a reserved manner for the priest due to COVID-19.
“Fr. Jjuuko will be laid to rest at Lubaga tomorrow (13th June 2020). The requiem Mass will be celebrated at the Cathedral at 1.00pm. However, due to the restrictions still in place, it will only be attended by a few selected people”.
Fr JJuuko was eulogized for his tireless service to the church in Kampala, with the Archdiocese and the entire Catholic community calling for a peaceful rest for his soul.
“We pray that the Almighty God may look upon the many years of Fr. Jjuuko’s tireless service, forgive him of any mishaps and grant him eternal rest in heaven”.
Biography of late Fr. Gerald JJuuko Sserwadda.
Born on 15th February 1951 and ordained to the priesthood on 28th August 1979, Fr. Jjuuko has served the People of God unreservedly in various capacities.
