SSpS- Ghana Province profession of vows

Sr. Josephine Essuman, SSpS, a Ghanaian sister who recently professed her perpetual vow together with three others, SRs Cynthia Addi-Chanagea, Charlotte Dery and Dorothy Sedinam Kporyi on August 22, 2020 is set to serve the church in Paraguay to join in sharing the mission.

Sr. Josephine who, from September, 2019 to August, 2020, has been preparing spiritually, physically and emotionally to say her Final ‘YES’ to the Lord is missioned to the Province of Paraguay in South America to join in the common mission of our congregation as she shares and spends her life with all people.

 

PROFILE OF SR. JOSEPHINE ESSUMAN, SSpS.

Born on May 2, 1990 at Agona Nyakrom in the Central Region, Sr. Josephine spent her childhood years at Mallam in Accra where she had her Basic and Junior High School education. She had her Senior High School education at New Generation SHS now at Kasoa and wrote her WASSCE at Kwanyako Senior High School in the Central Region.

Upon completion of SHS in 2007, Sr. Josephine spent three years teaching while she aspired with the Missionary Sisters Servants of the Holy Spirit (SSpS). Her active service as a Mass Server and lector at St. Dominic Catholic Church – Mallam, have kindled her calling to serve the Lord in Religious life where she will grow her spiritual self and serve the Lord in a more far-reaching way.

In responding to God’s call, she began her formative journey on October 1, 2010 and was accepted into the Pre-novitiate in Koforidua on December 8, 2010. After two years of pre-novitiate, she then, had her investiture into the Novitiate on August 21, 2012 in Sunyani.

After a successful completion of two years of prayer, guidance and proper discernment in the novitiate, Sr. Josephine was granted permission to profess her First Vows of Consecrated Chastity, Evangelical Poverty and Apostolic Obedience in the Mission Congregation of the Servants of the Holy Spirit on August 22, 2014.

She served as a teacher at Madonna School for a short while and then gained admission to the Catholic University College of Ghana (CUCG) in 2015. She completed and graduated last year with a First Class Honours in Bachelor of Education, English Option.

From September, 2019 to August, 2020, Sr. Josephine has been preparing spiritually, physically and emotionally to say her Final ‘YES’ to the Lord. Sr. Josephine loves reading, writing motivational messages, singing and listening to music.

She is missioned to the Province of Paraguay in South America to join in the common mission of our congregation as she shares and spends her life with all people.
