The Diocese of Keta-Akatsi in the Volta Region on October 9, 2021, ordained six new Priests to the mother Catholic Church. This year’s ordination took place in the Immaculate Conception of Mary Catholic Church, Tsiame. This colorful event was the first in the history of the Immaculate Conception of Mary Catholic Church, Tsiame.The ordaining bishop, Most Rev. Gabriel Edoe Kumordji, SVD, in his homily stated that Priesthood is a gift to the church and also a ministry ordained by God to impact the society positively. He again urged the people of God to learn to love their priests for them to enjoy the ministry.

Most Rev. Gabriel Edoe Kumordji, SVD also tasked the newly ordained Priests to love and nourish their people with the word of God and use the formation they had to impact and influence the society to the glory of God.
He emphasized that they need to be brave and courageous in their work and also to respect their people.
‘’Feed your Priest if they are hungry, give them water to drink if they are thirsty, cloth them if they are naked and console them if they are sad’’ – Most Rev. Gabriel Edoe Kumordji, SVD.

The Priestly Ordination had in attendance congregants from within and outside the Diocese. Among dignitaries who graced the occasion were the Priestly fraternity from the Diocese, Congregation of the Sisters Mother of the Church, Traditional leaders of the Tsiame traditional area, Political and Opinion Leaders of the Traditional area.

Rev.Fr. Michael Selasi Combey on behalf of his colleagues, newly ordained priests affirmed their commitment and noted that they will work with all commitment to serve God and proclaim the gospel in order to impact the society at large and for the glorification of God.
He used the opportunity to express their sincere thankfulness to Bishop Emeritus, Most Rev. Anthony Kwami Adanuty for having the trust in them from the very beginning of their journey, and Most Rev. Gabriel Edoe Kumordji, SVD for his encouragement and spiritual support throughout their formation.

He further expressed appreciation to the entire clergymen and women who through their guidance, advice, and nurture made their calling a gracefully one. And to everyone who supported them in one way or the other during their seminary formation.
Upon it all Rev. Fr. Michael Selasi Combey proclaimed and gave all the glory to God almighty for His divine direction and protecting throughout the journey.
