The Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference in a recent release has called off the sprinkling of Holy water otherwise termed as asperges and the use of incense as a means of curbing the spread of the deadly coronavirus.
The guidelines and further directives issued on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 affirms that, as some Arch/Dioceses commence congregational gathering, the additional guidelines will help trim down possible mishaps that may rise from the global pandemic (COVID-19).
The statement signed by the Most Rev Philip Naameh, President of the conference, who also shepherds the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Tamale said, “we, your Bishops wish to issue some additional directives and guidelines that could help reduce the risk of infections. Dioceses are kindly to adapt or issue further particular guidelines to their jurisdiction”.
