A Send-off Mass was held on Friday, 5th June, 2020 to bid farewell to Rev. Sis. Marietta Zelsao (Sisters of Holy Family of Nazareth), outgoing Director of the Catechetical Office who  hands over after 8 years of service to the Diocese.

Most Rev. Mathew Kwasi Gyamfi, main celebrant of the ceremony, in his homily, aligned the missionary work of St Paul to that of Sis. Marietta’s task as a Religious most especially throughout her stay in the Diocese.

He indicated she has visited virtually every Parish in the diocese to ensure the teachings reach out to every corner of the diocese.

“Sis. Marietta was very focused on building catechesis to take control of the teaching and spreading of the faith by supporting them with means of transport and addressing health issues. Her passion and desire that things should move fast and well was her greatest passion and highly commendable”, the Bishop indicated.

He was so appreciative of her zeal and commitment and on behalf of the Diocese thanked her exceedingly and wished her well on her desire to extent the faith to all and sundry.

Optional speeches as well as parting gifts from the Catechist Association, Rev. Msgr. Joseph Gyimah, Catechetical Commision, the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (DCCW), Diocesan Laity Council, Catholic Secretariat as well as Friends and Well-wishers were given out to Sis. Marietta.

In a brief but emotional remark, Sis. Marietta was very grateful for the support she gained during her time at the Catechetical Office from all and sundry. She prayed for the Catechetical Office will continue to deliver as expected for the common good of the faithful.

The Bishop formally introduced Rev. Fr. Jones Gyabaa-Yeboa as the new Director of the Catechetical Office.
