A TRIBUTE FROM GHANA PROVINCE, THE SECOND HOME OF THE LATE SR. MAKSIMILLIANA RENATA RUSIN
Sr. Maksimilliana Renata Rusin, SSpS
Oh Sr. Maksy, our beloved Sr. Maksy as we fondly called you when you were here among us and even till this day. We cannot help it but ask the question: Why oh God? Sr. Maksy! You have been such a lovely, kind-hearted person toward Sisters in your community as well as the people whom you poured your life’s blood out for.
As a person, Sr. Maksy was quick to perceive and anticipate the needs of the people before they could ask her. Most of the time, her heart quickly went out to the people and this was evident in her seeking financial and material assistance from home, friends and other benefactors to enable her reach out to those in need.
Oh, what a sweet and caring mother you have been. Unfortunately, there was no time set aside for people especially the people of Wiaga, your last station in Ghana to tell you how much they appreciate the person you have been to them because. That was because sickness and COVID 19 took you away from them unceremoniously. Too fast, giving them no chance to say and sing their thanks to her.
When the news of her demise reached the people of Wiaga, they exclaimed, “Oh our Matron, Oh.. oh… Oh our Matron… Our Mother.”
Indeed, Ghana Province would like to express profound gratitude to Sr. Maksy as we all affectionally call her. We have indeed lost a pearl but assure you that she would forever remain in our hearts, thoughts and in our words very often.
Within her 26 years of dedicated and selfless service particularly in the field of health and meaningful presence in the community, Sr. Maksy worked with zeal, and passion, facilitated some exciting changes in the system well as developed a cordial relationship among the staff and healthy working atmosphere in the following places as a midwife, a matron and Acting Administrator:
⦁ Holy Family Hospital, Nkawkaw – Koforidua Diocese
⦁ Damango Clinic – Damango Diocese
⦁ Holy Spirit Clinic, Kwesi Fante – Vicariate of Donkorkrom
⦁ A Local Clinic in Sambuli – Yendi Diocese
⦁ Dantano local clinic – Goaso Diocese
⦁ St. Lucas Hospital, Wiaga – Navrongo Bolgatanga Diocese
Sr. Maksy arrived in Ghana 26 years ago with zeal to and passion to serve the people with love. And Rightly so, she implemented this to the maximum.
