The Catholic Bishop of yola Diocese, Most Rev. Stephen Dami Mamza has presented N11,000 each to 104 widows to alleviate their suffering as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Bishop Mamza presented the package to the beneficiaries at the Catholic Secretariat jimeta yola Wednesday.
He pointed out that the gesture was a collaboration between a non Governmental Organization,Caford and the Catholic diocese of yola assuring that more would be given to others in need.
He advised the beneficiaries to make good use of the money.
The cleric called on Farmers in the state to avoid selling off their farm produce as this year’s harvest falls far short of expectations and there could be a food shortage next year.
The beneficiaries were from namtari,yolde pate,Ngurore and sangere of yola South.
Some of the beneficiaries spoken to thanked Bishop Dami Mamza for the gesture saying it will go along way in ameliorating their hardship.
