Before administering the Sacrament, Archbishop Kwofie admonished the confirmants to love in the thick of the “unloving world” and that they must strive to do so even under unpleasant circumstances.

He urged all present also to emulate the “loving Christ” to transform the face of the world.

Following the Mass, Archbishop Kwofie, thanked everyone involved in this day’s Confirmation especially the catechists involved in the training of the candidates and “for all that had to be accomplished, including the study requirements, during these difficult times”.

I DO MOMENT

During the rite of Confirmation the entire group renewed their baptismal promises by responding, “I do.”

Then each candidate, accompanied by his or her sponsor, came forward to be anointed and confirmed one by one by the bishop.

SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION

In the Catholic faith, Confirmation is a sacrament by which persons already baptized receive the Holy Spirit in order to make them stronger and more perfect Christians, as once granted to the apostles on the day of Pentecost.

The effect of the sacrament of confirmation is to give strength in faith and for the confession of faith and to impress an indelible character.
